Festival Code of Conduct

Welcome to the LBF Festival! Our festival code of conduct reflects our values of respect, inclusion, and safety. This guide outlines what we expect from all attendees to ensure a meaningful and joyful experience for everyone.

2. Mutual respect and kind behavior

Kindness and courtesy are essential. Mockery, exclusion, aggressive behavior, or humiliation of any kind are not tolerated. If you make a mistake or cause discomfort, we encourage you to apologize sincerely. We all contribute to creating a positive atmosphere.

1. An inclusive space for all

Everyone is welcome at LBF, regardless of age, gender identity, origin, sexual orientation, physical appearance, beliefs, or abilities. We celebrate diversity and strive to build a community where everyone feels seen, respected, and valued.

3. Consent and freedom of choice

Everyone has the right to refuse a dance or stop dancing at any time without explanation. A simple "no thank you" should always be respected. Never pressure or insist — respect is non-negotiable.

4. Physical safety on the dance floor

Protecting each other’s physical well-being is crucial. Complex or risky moves (such as dips, head rolls, lifts, etc.) must only be performed with clear mutual agreement. Dance in a way that is safe and comfortable for both you and those around you.

5. Respect for personal space

Always seek consent before initiating physical contact — either verbally or through respectful non-verbal cues. Pay attention to your partner’s body language and adjust your proximity accordingly.

6. Dance across all levels

Always seek consent before initiating physical contact — either verbally or through respectful non-verbal cues. Pay attention to your partner’s body language and adjust your proximity accordingly.

7. Gender-neutral dance roles

At LBF, dance roles are not defined by gender. We use the terms leader and follower, and everyone is free to choose the role they wish to dance in.

8. Zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination

Any form of discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior — including racism, sexism, homophobia, or transphobia — will not be tolerated. If you witness or experience any such behavior, please report it immediately to a member of the organizing team.

9. No unsolicited teaching

The dance floor is not a classroom. Do not give advice, corrections, or feedback unless your partner explicitly requests it.

10. Respect off the dance floor

Physical closeness outside of dancing must also be consensual. Never assume that physical touch or gestures of affection are welcome — always be respectful of others’ space.

11. A drug-free event

The use of drugs is strictly prohibited during the festival. We also encourage responsible alcohol consumption to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Reporting an incident

If you experience or witness behavior that goes against this Code of Conduct, please contact a team member wearing an LBF badge or message us via Instagram
